Gearless machines are permanent magnet synchronous (PMSM) systems that do not have a gearbox (reducer) and where the motor shaft is directly connected to the drive sheave. Since friction and mechanical losses are at a minimum, they provide high efficiency, quiet operation, and low energy consumption.

In motor selection; cabin load capacity (kg), desired travel speed (m/s), roping ratio (1:1 or 2:1), shaft layout dimensions, daily usage frequency, travel distance, and static load must be considered as basic criteria.
Belt-driven gearless machines allow for smaller sheave diameters. They are preferred to provide extra space savings in buildings with extremely limited headroom or pit depth, in villas, and in projects where maximum silence is expected.
Homelift series motors are extremely quiet gearless motors designed specifically for villas and detached buildings with low travel distances, consuming minimal energy.
The Akış gearless product group includes series specially designed for different project requirements:
- AK Series: Designed for high passenger traffic and tall buildings. It can be safely preferred up to 51 meters of travel distance without a compensation chain, and up to 75 meters with the use of a compensation chain.
- Volpi Series: Powerful models offering flexible use. Supports up to 33 meters of travel distance without a compensation chain, and up to 51 meters when used with a compensation chain.
- Mugen Series: Specialized for residential projects with its compact structure. Reaches up to 21 meters of travel distance without a compensation chain, and up to 33 meters with a compensation chain.
