Geared elevator machines are reliable drive systems that achieve high load capacity by reducing the torque of a high-speed electric motor via a worm gear and worm screw mechanism. They are the ideal solution to meet high torque demands in buildings with machine rooms.
In machine selection; cabin carrying capacity (kg), desired travel speed (m/s), roping ratio (1:1 or 2:1), physical dimensions of the machine room, daily usage intensity, travel distance, and static load must be considered as basic criteria.
Drum machines operate on the principle of winding the steel wire rope directly onto a drum and do not require a counterweight system. They are preferred in modernization (renovation) projects where the building lacks sufficient shaft volume for a counterweight or where shaft dimensions are narrow.
The vertical machine series is a specialized type of geared machine with a vertically positioned motor structure. It is preferred to achieve maximum space savings in buildings with restricted floor space in the machine room, narrow dimensions, or special architecture.
Specially designed for escalator and moving walk systems, these machines stand out with their structure suitable for continuous (24/7) operation, high starting torque, advanced brake safety systems, and mechanisms providing high durability under heavy passenger traffic.
The Akış geared machine group includes series designed according to different buildings, carrying capacities, and travel distances:
- Z - ZF Series: Designed for standard and high-capacity projects. It can be safely preferred up to 51 meters of travel distance without a compensation chain, and up to 75 meters with the use of a compensation chain.
- Volpi Series: Powerful models offering flexible use. Supports up to 33 meters of travel distance without a compensation chain, and up to 51 meters when used with a compensation chain.
- Mugen Series: Specialized for residential projects with its compact structure. Reaches up to 21 meters of travel distance without a compensation chain, and up to 33 meters with a compensation chain.
- Drum Series: Offers drum-wound solutions specialized for buildings without counterweight space.
- Vertical Machine Series: Contains vertically positioned models for machine rooms with narrow floor space.
- Escalator Series: Provides specialized solutions for escalator/moving walk systems requiring continuous high load and torque.
